Brushless DC motors have been around for decades. The biggest difference between brushless DC motor and brushless DC motor is that brushless motor does not use brush.

In the commutation process, the brush is used in the DC motor to switch the current from the coil to the coil to generate torque to rotate the rotor and additional load. This process is mechanical because the brush actually slides on the commutator to achieve switching between motor coils.

On the other hand, brushless motor relies on electronic equipment to complete the commutation task. The electronic switching of current to the coil of Brushless DC motor is more effective than the mechanical switching of DC motor. Moreover, with the passage of time, there was no wear, brush or commutator was not replaced, and there was no spark on the interface of brush commutator. As a result, compared with the brush motor with similar rated output power, the brushless motor is basically maintenance free, produces low electrical noise, can operate at higher voltage, has higher efficiency and can become more compact.

In general, brushless DC motors are mainly used in general-purpose commercial and industrial applications, especially those applications or locations where you do not want or need to accurately control motor speed. Unless the driver is built into the motor, all brushless DC motors need supporting driver electronic components.

Brushless DC motors are ideal for supplying power to pumps, fans and blowers, compressors and other similar commercial or industrial applications where long life, maintenance free, compact size and electrical efficiency are important in design. These motors are ideal for battery powered equipment, and the improved efficiency of these equipment can significantly improve the battery life.
